We turned a concrete fountain plaza into Enchanted Oasis using pojection on the ground.

was selected through an open call on Monochronicle. The original brief called for a promenade, but we always meet with shortlisted artists before finalizing anything.

That conversation changed the plan entirely.
Talking through his vision made it clear the fountain plaza was a better option. Projection on the ground, children are trying to catch the fish, light dancing across water synced to the sound. A concrete plaza turned into a path of enchantment.

The best site decisions don’t come from the brief. They come from knowing the artist.

Many art administrators ask where to draw the line with AI use in applications. This is a good example of a clear and reasonable policy: applicants may use AI for brainstorming, editing, or translation, but the ideas and voice must remain their own.

Banning AI entirely is becoming as unrealistic as taking away a tablet from a teenager. Artists will use these tools anyway. The more important question is: what matters more — polished grammar and formatting, or strong creative ideas?

Monochronicle helps organizations develop AI policies and educational workshops for staff, jurors, and artists. DM us with any questions.

I met Nico in Jacksonville around 2017 when we both worked on a new street art festival. I’m so proud of what she has accomplished. Talented artist and producer — she experiments with various techniques and innovative approaches. In this Write Your Narrative podcast, she talks about her “tape grid” as an evolution of the famous doodle grid technique when scaling to big walls. Nico is part of the Monochronicle network. See her today at the Museum of Graffiti, Artist Studios, Miami 7–9 pm.

Have a blank wall? Meet Sam Elgreco

This Argentinian artist has painted for architects, galleries, museums, and private collectors — his visual language bridges public space and interior design seamlessly.

Sam Elgreco composes geometric abstractions that feel like movement frozen mid-frame — post-graffiti meets neo-futurist, with an eye for how color and form interact with architecture.

On monochronicle.com verified artists like Sam are available for commissions and direct acquisitions of existing artworks and designs.

Anyma’s The End of Genesys at the Las Vegas Sphere was a landmark for immersive art, selling over 130,000 tickets as the first electronic act to headline the $2.3 billion venue.

A transhumanist story world wrapping 580,000 square feet of 16K LED. The show utilized the venue’s immersive screen, haptic seats, and beamforming audio to create a 3D experience featuring digital art and AI-inspired concepts.

But what made it matter wasn’t the technology. It was the world Matteo Milleri built inside it.

The industry is scaling fast. But content and creative vision will win the race. Audiences don’t remember the screen resolution. They remember how it made them feel.

The experience economy is projected to reach $8.2 trillion by 2028.

Having just produced Lumenaura — an immersive light and sound festival for the City of Aurora, Illinois — we’ve seen this shift up close.

The numbers behind it are telling: 77% of people say their best memories came from a live event or experience. 69% say attending live experiences makes them feel more connected to others. Audiences aren’t just spending money — they’re looking for meaning.

How to you visualize something that’s fundamentally invisible?

At Lumenaura, Alina Nazmeeva brought that idea to life with Invisible Currents, a projection mapping art installation that reveals the hidden signals exchanged between flowers and their pollinators. Originally shown across a massive 4,000 sq. meter screen in Hong Kong, the piece transformed again in Aurora, IL wrapping around G.A.R. Museum.

Using a blend of XR, AI, textiles, and game engines, Alina builds systems of meaning. In Aurora, those invisible ecosystems became spatial, immersive, and shared, like stepping inside a living network.

There’s an invisible world all around us. Let’s make it visible! Contact us for more information about the project and how to bring it to your city.

Will you apply?

The three-stage structure used in the UF-677 call reflects a straightforward principle: ask artists for more only at the point where the commissioning organization has already demonstrated genuine interest.

STAGE 1 is a blind image review. Artists submit three to five images of past work and a short statement confirming they meet at least two of the stated eligibility criteria. No identifying information. Jurors score on visual quality and aesthetic fit before any names, resumes, or affiliations are visible.

STAGE 2 is a full portfolio review: a letter of interest, a CV demonstrating eligibility, and five to fifteen additional artwork images. At this stage, artists know the organization has already looked at their work and decided it warrants closer examination. That is a different context for a letter of interest than a cold application into an unknown process.

STAGE 3 is a paid design concept. Finalists — one to three artists or artist teams — receive a $1,100 honorarium to develop and present a site-specific proposal.
