This is a message from our Family Literacy Teacher Maya and a Recap of the Family Literacy Project!

This Year’s Family Literacy Project Was a Huge Success!

I'm so proud to share that this year’s Family Literacy Project was an incredible achievement! As part of the project, parents responded to two meaningful questions: “What does family literacy mean to me?” and “What is the value of family literacy?”

As you’ll see in the attached pictures below, their writing is both powerful and deeply inspiring. I wanted to take things a step further—so I asked for volunteers to read their writing aloud in front of the Vaughn Elementary staff. To my surprise and absolute delight, five brave students stepped up and read their work—in English—in front of a large audience!

As we all know, public speaking is no easy task, even in your native language. But they delivered their words beautifully and with such courage and heart.

Vaughn Family Literacy Parent Presentation was an unforgettable event.

The turnout was incredible—more than half of the school staff attended, including custodians and cafeteria team members! 😊

I could NOT be prouder of my students—they were truly AMAZING!

We want to congratulate and recognize our Family Literacy Parents with the Learning Source and Vaughn for completing their English Literacy Class this year and for all the hard work they have accomplished!
We are proud of them! 🎉🎉
