Who we are:
Mission: Aurora Sister City International’s mission is to promote local and global partnerships centered on cultural, educational and best practices exchange, cultivating a network of community Ambassadors who champion peace and prosperity around the world. Cultural & Educational Exchange Vision: Aurora Sister Cities International aims to build relationships which expand cultural and

educational exchange between our Aurora, Colorado community and its sister and friendship cities. International Trade Vision: Aurora Sister Cities International aims to serve as the liaison, facilitator and guide to foster international trade opportunities between Aurora, Colorado and its sister and friendship cities. Additionally, we aim to serve as a reference and resource for, and partner to, our local businesses and business organizations wishing to promote trade and other business opportunities abroad. What we do:

Aurora Sister Cities International plans and implements initiatives aimed at promoting Aurora as a global city. Such initiatives begin through the creation of strategic partnerships with other carefully selected cities worldwide and include activities that promote and facilitate enhanced international trade, and cultural and educational exchange between the cities. At a municipal level, Aurora Sister Cities International acts as the city of Aurora’s liaison with these various partner cities, facilitates mutually beneficial trade opportunities, and creates an international business network between Aurora and its sister and friendship cities. At a community level, Aurora Sister Cities International creates a corps of committed, globally-minded volunteers who support our global sister city initiatives, perform various activities that highlight Aurora’s diaspora communities, and engage in cultural and educational exchange activities that build relationships and trust. Aurora Sister Cities International engages in three types of strategic relationships with our international partners:

• Sisters Cities – These are cities in which the mayor and city council of each city vote and agree to a formal partnership.
• Friendship Cities – These are cities in which the mayor of each city agree to a partnership.
• Strategic and Educational Exchanges- These are programs facilitated by Aurora Sister Cities International which provide a direct and immediate economic benefit to the city of Aurora and/or its businesses, and which may help develop a future friendship or sister city relationship. Why we are unique:

Aurora Sister Cities International is unique for the following reasons:

• Aurora Sister Cities International is the only organization in Aurora that officially promotes global partnerships for the city of Aurora and its citizens.
• Aurora Sister Cities International engages Aurora’s highly diverse international community through its cultural and educational exchange initiatives.
• Aurora Sister Cities International is positioned to enhance international trade through its relationships with unique cities across the world.
• Aurora Sister Cities International is positioned to directly help Aurora businesses abroad, particularly those located in our sister and friendship cities.
• Aurora Sister Cities International serves as a trade resource for the city of Aurora.

Thank You, ASCI Family! Friday December 18, 2026, our Event was Great. Thank you to our incredible ASCI Board of Directors, Sister City Working Groups committee chairs, and community partners for making our Year-End Get-Together so meaningful.
A special thank you to OIIA City of Aurora Office of International and Immigrant Affairs, Colorado and to the City of Aurora, and our sincere appreciation to Mayor of Aurora for joining us and showing continued support for global friendship and community harmony. Lidia, Jennifer and Binisha you make the event unforgettable.

We are grateful for the encouraging words from Jeanette, ASCI Board President, and Ricardo from OIIA—your leadership and partnership continue to inspire us. Thank you as well to our Executive Director, Samuel, and all Sister City Committee Chairs. Your speeches were powerful and truly reflected how Aurora remains harmonized with diverse communities from around the world.

This evening reminded us that ASCI is one family—working together to build connections, celebrate culture, and strengthen global sister Cities relationships. As we move into the new year, we look forward to continuing this important work together.

Strengthening Global Partnerships

Aurora Sister Cities International (ASCI), in collaboration with the Office of International and Immigrant Affairs (OIIA), recently met with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Denver. We were honored to meet with Director General Debby H. H. Huang and Consular Officer Natalia, where we discussed exciting opportunities to strengthen sister city relations between the City of Aurora and New Taipei City.

We extend our sincere appreciation to OIIA for organizing and facilitating this important meeting on behalf of ASCI. Both sides are enthusiastic about the prospect of forming a sister city relationship that fosters cultural exchange, economic collaboration, and mutual understanding.

We are grateful for this opportunity to collaborate and look forward to building a strong and meaningful partnership together.
