Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Movie Night of 2026 at Beaupre Elementary School in Ward 7!

It was a beautiful evening filled with family, fun, and community connection. It was especially meaningful for me to return to the school where I attended 6th grade and relive so many great memories.

A heartfelt thank you to Principal Mrs. Lirio Ramirez for welcoming us, and to our generous sponsors (David Ramires, and Luis Crespo) for providing drinks, popcorn, cotton candy, and community resources. Special thanks to Uni2 for organizing and sponsoring the raffle prizes.

Events like these happen because of strong partnerships between our schools, local organizations, bussiness, sponsors, and residents.

Save the date for our next Movie Night on July 10, 2026, at Young Elementary School in Ward 7.

We look forward to seeing you for another great night of family fun!

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring strength of the human spirit.

Juneteenth is a story of overcoming adversity, demonstrating resilience in the face of injustice, and building stronger communities through perseverance, hope, and unity.
As we reflect on this important day, let us honor those who endured unimaginable challenges, recognize the contributions of African- Americans throughout our nation's history, and recommit ourselves to building a community where every person is valued, respected, and given the opportunity to succeed.
