West Aurora Football Traffic Plan

With varsity football back at West Aurora High School, the school will once again be using its game day traffic plan for all home games this season.

The plan is designed to help students, families and visitors get in and out of the area more efficiently, while also reducing traffic impacts on the neighborhoods surrounding the school.

Home Varsity Football Games:
• Friday, September 11
• Friday, September 18
• Friday, September 25
• Friday, October 9

If you’re heading to a game or traveling through the area on one of these evenings, please be aware of temporary traffic changes and follow posted signs and directions from staff.

Thank you to West Aurora for continuing to work toward a smoother game day experience while being mindful of the residents who call the surrounding neighborhoods home. Go Blackhawks!

I’m excited to share that Ron Cherry has stepped up to serve as the new Boulevard District Neighborhood Group Volunteer Leader.

Ron is someone who genuinely wants to get to know the people who live in the neighborhood and help make these meetings useful for residents. Whether that means sharing concerns, hearing about what’s happening nearby, or simply getting to know a few more of your neighbors, I know Ron will do a great job helping keep that conversation going.

You’ll have a chance to meet him tonight at the Boulevard District Neighborhood Meeting! The meeting will be from 6:00–7:00 PM at the Aurora Public Library (Santori Branch), 101 S. River St.

Aurora will soon begin a Special Census focused on areas of new residential construction since the 2020 Census. An accurate count is important because population numbers directly impact funding available for services like public safety, road repairs, public works, and other community services.

For Ward 4, the areas included in the Special Census are shown in darker blue on the map below. If you live in one of these areas, please keep an eye on your mailbox this week for information from the U.S. Census Bureau and make sure your household is counted.

Every resident counts and responses are private and protected by law.

Let’s make sure Ward 4, and Aurora, gets an accurate count!
