Buckley Space Force base responded to a mutual aid request to a reported structure fire this morning in Arapahoe County. Chief 2 and Engine 2 responded. Upon arrival chief 2 was assigned operations and engine 2 was assigned to draft out of a porta tank because the area had no fire hydrants. The rest of the crews off of engine 2 pulled lines off of the other engines on scene and assisted with fire attack. The decision was made to go defensive on the garage and offensive on the house. The quick response from Bennett-Watkins, Sable Altura and Buckley saved the house portion. While searching the house, 3 cats were found along with 2 geckos. Crews were on scene for a little over 2 hours assisting with overhaul.

Firefighters battled a large multi-car garage fire in Arapahoe County on Tuesday morning.

On Wednesday November 24th Buckley Fire lost Retired Station Chief Douglas Collins unexpectedly. His family is in our thoughts and prayers. RIP Brother.

On August 28, 2021 we bid Assistant Fire Chief Dean Morris farewell. Dean has had an amazing career, his expertise, passion, and depth of knowledge will be missed. Best wishes to Dean as he enters the next chapter in his retirement life. We will be holding a retirement ceremony on Friday August 27, 2021 at 10am.
