If you’ve seen our recent renovations at the Dillsboro Public Library, you may be surprised to see the original building’s frame in this photo from 30 years ago today. While the building got a significant facelift, its bones are pretty much the same.

If you have something related to the Dillsboro Public Library or the surrounding community that you’d like to see rediscovered 30 years from now, please stop by and write a letter to the future or contribute photos and other flat objects to the time capsule we’ll be opening in 2056!

This Library Card Sign-Up Month we're featuring our local inductees to the Southeastern Indiana Musician's Hall of Fame! Stop by the Aurora or Dillsboro Library through out September and show us your library card to be entered to win tickets to the 2026 Hall of Fame Award Ceremony and Concert on November 7th, as well as other musical prizes!

In 2001 Southeastern Indiana Musicians Association was founded by Ken Jackson and eight other local musicians, Nelson Elliot, Bob Hudson, Bob Bischoff, Stafford Ripley, Clifford “Dutch” Hoffmeier, Bob Linkmeyer, Carolyn Leming and George Smith, as a way to honor the local music makers by inducting them into the Southeastern Indiana Musicians Association Hall of Fame.

Each year the board made up mostly of local musicians, reviews public submissions nominating individuals deserving recognition for their musical accomplishments and contributions to the community, for induction into the Southeastern Indiana Musicians Association "Hall of Fame." Since 2001 they have recognized 133 of these individuals to date by presenting them or their family with a plaque acknowledging this contribution to the community.
