📚✏️ Aurora R8 Open House is Almost Here!

Join us on Thursday, August 20, as we welcome students and families back for the 2026–2027 school year!

Come meet your teachers, visit classrooms, pick up important information and get ready for an amazing year.

Open House Schedule:

• Pate Early Childhood: 4:30–6:00 p.m.
• Robinson School: 5:00–6:30 p.m.
• Aurora Junior High & ALC: 5:30–7:00 p.m.
• Aurora High School: 6:00–7:30 p.m.

Families may also drop off student medications during Open House. Please remember:

• Prescription medications must be in the original box or bottle with the prescription number, date and doctor’s information.
• All emergency medications must include an action plan signed by the prescribing doctor.
• Medications must be dropped off by an adult so the required paperwork can be completed.

Pate Families: We are excited to introduce the KIDaccount Connect App and a new dismissal process. These changes will help make afternoon pickup safer, easier and more consistent for everyone.

📱 Please download the KIDaccount app before the first day of school and make sure your information is correct. Parents can use the app for carline pickup, dismissal changes, signing students in or out, and checking in when visiting the school.

🪪 Please bring a photo ID when picking up your child. Staff will use it to help make sure students leave with an approved adult.

⏳ Please be patient as families and staff learn the new process. Pickup may take a little longer at first, but your patience will help make the change go smoothly.

KIDaccount will not replace regular communication with your child’s school through Seesaw.

Aurora R8 2026–2027 Online Enrollment Is Now Open!

New to Aurora R8?
°NEW students entering Kindergarten–12th grade should enroll in person at:

Aurora R8 Central Office
201 S. Madison
Monday–Thursday | 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Please bring:
°Birth Certificate
°Immunization Record
°Proof of Residency

New preschool students should enroll directly at Pate Early Childhood Center.

Returning Aurora R8 Families

If your student attended Aurora R8 during the 2025–2026 school year, you can now complete Online Registration.

Online Registration must be completed before your student's class list or schedule will be available in the Parent Portal or Campus Parent app.

Aurora R8 is proud to announce new hires for the 2026–2027 school year!

Susie Hughes – EL Specialist
Susie brings 25 years of experience in education and joins Aurora R8 as an EL Specialist after serving as a Multilingual Language Learner (MLL) Specialist and teacher. She lives in Purdy, Missouri, and is married to her best friend, William. Together they have three children, a son-in-law, and a miniature Australian Shepherd named Buddy. Outside of school, Susie enjoys hiking, canoeing with her family, and gardening, which she considers her favorite hobby and stress reliever. She is multilingual, speaking three languages, and some of her favorite family adventures include hiking Grays Peak in Colorado and Mount Mansfield in Vermont. Susie and her husband are also apiculturists, or beekeepers.

Shelby Simpson – 2nd Grade Teacher
Shelby joins Aurora R8 with three years of experience teaching 2nd grade. She is from Hurley and enjoys spending time outdoors, especially going on walks with her beautiful three-year-old dog. Shelby also loves reading and has a particular interest in history. Family is important to her, and she enjoys being an aunt to her two-year-old niece. She is excited to bring her passion for learning and teaching to her 2nd grade classroom this school year.
