🍂 Help Ward 1 Choose Fall Cleanup Sites!

The City of Aurora's Community Engagement Division is planning its Citywide Fall Cleanup Day, and they are asking Ward 1 residents to help identify locations that could benefit from some extra care.

Through the Site Selection Survey, residents can suggest parks, streets, trails, or public spaces in their ward that may be a good fit for this year’s cleanup efforts. Resident feedback will help determine the locations for the event.

Complete the Site Selection Survey Today: https://www.aurora.il.us/CleanUpSurvey
Save the Date: Saturday, October 24 | 8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

A separate volunteer sign-up survey will be available soon for residents who would like to participate at one of the selected cleanup sites.

❗ Work For The 2026 Aurora Special Census!

✅ The City of Aurora’s Special Census Initiative has returned, as the City pursues a count of its population held outside of the normal census. During the 2020 Census, it was reported that the City of Aurora lost approximately 17,000 people. The reported loss in population has led to the City losing over $4.3 million per year in revenue.

🏡 The City will be conducting a new construction count, which counts specific areas throughout Aurora that have recently been built and are now occupied! Through this new count, the City expects to increase its population total, and help fund key day-to-day operations and services provided to residents.

💵 Currently, the U.S. Census Bureau is hiring Field Supervisors and Field Representatives to assist in completing the Aurora Special Census, with pay ranging from $21-$24.50, plus excellent benefits!

📲 To submit your application, please visit: www.aurora.il.us/SpecialCensusJobs.

☀️ The 2026 Aurora Special Census is scheduled to begin with the Internet Self-Response Period on July 23!
