This Fourth of July, we celebrate the freedoms we cherish and the hardworking men and women who help keep Texas moving every day.

From building safer highways and stronger bridges to improving critical water and utility infrastructure, our members are laying the foundation for a stronger future across the Lone Star State.

As you gather with family and friends this Independence Day, we wish you a safe and happy holiday. Thank you to everyone working over the holiday weekend to keep our communities connected and our infrastructure moving forward.

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July from AGC of Texas!

Every roadside worker deserves to make it home safely.

When you see flashing lights, emergency vehicles, tow trucks, utility crews, or highway construction workers, Move Over or Slow Down. It's not just the law—it's a simple action that saves lives.

Give workers the space they need to do their jobs safely by changing lanes when possible or slowing to 20 mph below the posted speed limit if you can't move over.

Together, we can make Texas roads safer for everyone.

🚗 Safety on Texas roads starts with simple choices. The recently launched “Saved by the Belt” challenge highlights a heartbreaking reality—132 Texas teens lost their lives in 2024 while not wearing a seat belt. Buckling up is one of the easiest and most effective ways to protect yourself and others.

TxDOT and the UIL are calling on Texas teens to take the “Saved by the Belt” pledge after 132 unbuckled young people died in crashes in 2024.

Relationships aren’t the only things that require thoughtfulness, investment, and long-term commitment.

The future of our roads and bridges does, too, because good things don’t just happen by accident.

Winter weather is moving across Texas this weekend ❄️

If you must travel, please remember to slow down, allow extra time, and stay alert for changing road conditions.

🚧 Remember the Move Over or Slow Down law:

If you see emergency vehicles, TxDOT crews, or roadside assistance with flashing lights—move over a lane when possible or slow down. These crews are working to keep Texans safe.

Let’s all do our part to look out for one another. Stay safe and stay aware.

When there’s ice on the road, staying put is the safest call. Stay home, stay warm, and stay safe. Texas will still be there when the ice melts. Drive like a Texan: kind, courteous, and safe.
