💓Heartbeat of Harmony: Behind every successful school day at Harmony Science Academy-Georgetown is Wendy Cortez, an Attendance Clerk whose dedication and warm presence earn her the Heartbeat of Harmony recognition. Having served Harmony for several years in various roles before taking on attendance, Cortez spends her days monitoring records, assisting families, and supporting teachers and students alike.
Her path to education was driven by a love for helping children and making differences. These values were instilled by her parents, who taught her the importance of kindness and hard work. For Cortez, tracking attendance is about far more than paperwork. "Every school day is an opportunity to learn and succeed," she says, finding the greatest reward in seeing students' attendance improve and watching them celebrate their personal and academic achievements. Guided by her own advice to "believe in yourself and never stop growing," Cortez remains motivated daily by the joy and progress of the students she serves.
