Addressing the challenges facing our housing market is essential to building a secure and stable future for everyone who calls Austin home.

I joined a few of my colleagues for a tour with the Housing Authority of the City of Austin to better understand the programs and policies that can expand access to affordable housing.

As we prepare for the next legislative session, I’m committed to advancing solutions that keep Austin affordable and ensure families and working people have the opportunity to put down roots in our community.

It was great to join TexProtects and Donna Howard for a panel on child wellbeing and safety!

I shared the story of my grandfather, a surgeon who was appointed by Governor Clements to run the Texas Medicaid program. As a lifelong Republican, he understood the value of healthcare access to both our state’s future and our pocketbooks.

My grandfather understood that healthcare shouldn’t be a partisan issue, it's about doing what's right for Texas families.

That's why I'll keep fighting for Medicaid expansion in the 90th Legislature and making sure every Texan has access to the high-quality care they need.
