It wouldn't be Annual Conference without celebrating our outstanding TXTA leadership during the Chairman's Dinner.

At our final event of the night, we honored outgoing Chairman Kevin Mathews of GenOx Transportation for an incredible year of service and celebrated the 2026 Leadership Award recipient Lance Shillingburg for his nearly 40 years of dedication to TXTA and the trucking industry. We also recognized Peter Gunderson of Houston Freightliner, Western Star, with the third annual Allied Appreciation Award for his longtime support and advocacy. Plus we got to rock out to the Spazmatics with our 80's themed band and decor! 🤘 🎸

During the TXTA Annual Conference on July 30, we celebrated the safety and maintenance professionals who help keep Texas trucking moving safely and efficiently the Safety & Maintenance Awards Luncheon. Congratulations to all of this year’s outstanding award winners for their dedication to safety, excellence and our industry!

Team Texas is also kicking off the first day of the National Truck Driving Championships in Pittsburgh today. We’re proud of our Texas competitors and the skill, professionalism and commitment to safety they will bring to Nationals. 🚛🏆

Our full day at the 2026 TXTA Annual Conference was packed with keynote speakers and panel discussions covering the economy, cargo theft, FMCSA updates, tort reform, and other key issues impacting the trucking industry. Major progress is being made to remove illegal trucking operations from our nation's highways.

A new industry progress report from Trucking Association Executives Council highlights significant federal and state enforcement actions targeting unsafe carriers, fraudulent CDL schools, improperly issued licenses, and other bad actors that undermine safety and fair competition.

The generosity of the Texas trucking industry was on full display at this year's Main Event! Together, attendees, sponsors and supporters raised significant funds for the TXTA Foundation Scholarship Program through auctions, raffle tickets, sponsorships, golf tournament proceeds and generous donations.

We also celebrated the Houston Golf Tournament's incredible success under Kirsten Barringer's leadership and congratulated Jackie Polk on receiving the 2026 Kay Crimm Award for her outstanding dedication to the Foundation's trade and technical scholarship program.
