The Railroad Commission of Texas is the oldest regulatory agency in the state and one of the oldest in the country. Since that time the Commission has been given the responsibility for overseeing the activities of many different industries. The Commission considers protection of the environment and preservation of individual property rights to be two of its primary responsibilities. The Commission, through its employees, has a long and proud history of service to both Texas and to the nation.

Earlier this month, 14 RRC inspectors enhanced their electrical‑safety expertise through Electrical Power Awareness Training at the Quanta Advanced Training Center in La Grange. The specialized course helps inspectors identify electrical hazards and mitigate wildfire risks in the field.

Over the next nine months, more than 120 RRC inspectors are expected to complete the training as part of the Commission’s continued commitment to protecting Texans and the environment.

A familiar sight across the Texas energy landscape! 🛢️

Earlier this month, RRC inspectors headed to Bob L. Herd Department of Petroleum Engineering TTU in Lubbock for the agency’s first Field Inspector Training program in Texas. The training builds on what our inspectors have already learned and provides hands-on experience with the equipment they may encounter in the field.
