TAB’s Executive Officers were in Waco this week for the 2026 Texas Executive Officers Council Biennial Seminar!

With a packed professional development program focused on membership growth, NAHB resources, stronger committees, Texas politics, workforce development, AI and idea-sharing, the seminar gave EOs from across the state an opportunity to connect, learn and lead together. The group also toured the Texas State Technical College (TSTC) campus in Waco for a firsthand look at the education and training preparing students for careers in the skilled trades.

We’re proud to see TAB’s EOs investing in their leadership, sharing ideas and building connections that strengthen our local associations and the home building industry across Texas.

Strong associations. Stronger Texas.

On August 6, 2026, The Texas Builders Foundation awarded a grant of $10,000 to Mt. Vernon ISD to support the purchase of power tools for their brand new construction trades program launching this school year.

The establishment of this program comes as a result of substantial student interest and from the recognized need to grow the workforce from local builders.

The Texas Builders Foundation is proud to support Mt. Vernon ISD and other schools and organizations across Texas that are committed to providing trades education opportunities.

Thank you, Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulation - TDLR for adopting the 2026 National Electrical Code as the Texas state electrical code, while preserving a limited exception for certain outdoor ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) requirements. TAB appreciates TDLR's consideration of stakeholder input and its commitment to practical, cost-effective regulations that support safe, quality housing across Texas.
