We held our annual awards ceremony to recognize and thank our members for their service to the community. Awards were given for Firefighter of the Year, Firefighter Achievement, and Exemplary Service. An entire shift was awarded their Phoenix award for successfully resuscitating a patient in cardiac arrest. Years of Service pins were given for 1 year, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, and 30 years of service with the Oak Hill Fire Department. Big round of applause for our firefighters!

Our Truck 302 from C Shift, along with Austin Fire Department Engine 37, recently performed an elevator rescue. An elevator stalled between floors and initial actions did not reset the elevator. Safety procedures were performed to ensure the elevator would not move and the occupant was able to climb through the top hatch with a ladder. Good teamwork and sharing of equipment between the two crews and great job all around!

We recently hosted Scent Work Across Texas to use our training field to conduct their Master and Intermediate Classic Trials. The crew was allowed to observe all the work needed to train our friends in odor detection.
