Some shots from our America 250 celebration over the Fourth of July weekend.

Board member Teresa Castillo (right) shared her family’s deep Texas roots and spoke about the Tejanos and Vaqueros who lived here 250 years ago, before Texas became part of the United States. Guests also explored the weapons and tools used for hunting and protection in early Texas, loaned from volunteer Barry Faltesek’s collection.

The celebration of America’s 250th birthday begins at Pioneer Farms. 🇺🇸

Join us this Saturday at 10 AM for a special program with Teresa Castillo, whose family has roots in Texas dating back 250 years. She’ll share stories and history that connect us to Texas’s early past.

You’ll also have the chance to see the weapons and defensive tools that were used 250 years ago.

Included with general admission. We hope to see you there!

Join Hannah Moore this Sunday in the historic Jourdan Cabin for a hands-on soap making class. You’ll learn the craft, make your own soap, and take it home the same day.
