When Magaly moved to Austin, she brought a dream with her: to share the flavors of her home. With support from Caritas of Austin's Employment Program, Magaly found work as a cook, gained valuable experience, connected with mentors, and turned her dream into reality.

In 2016, she opened La Cubanita, bringing traditional Cuban flavors to the Austin community. Today, her story is proof of what's possible when people have the opportunity and support to pursue their goals.
