Today (8/4), Tarrant County Commissioners Court is voting on whether to close 140 of the 316 voting centers in Tarrant County — accounting for a full 44% closure of polls. Unsurprisingly, nearly all of the targeted polling locations are located in predominantly Black and Brown neighborhoods in Tarrant County.

This isn’t about budget cuts. This is racial gerrymandering. Extremist politicians across the state are scared of the movement we are building.

Huge thank you to all who joined us in supporting Planned Parenthood Texas Votes’ grassroots efforts at Unbothered. Overheated. Unhinged. — a PPTV menopause party and comedy show.

We had the honor of enjoying sets from the funniest comedians in town, Amy Shanker and Rochelle McConico, and enjoyed amazing art by Austin visual artist Hillary Cumberworth.

The drinks were poured, and the tea on menopause (and perimenopause!) was spilled! 💅🍷🪭

Texas Democratic Party Convention Recap! 🌊🗳️

Team PPTV welcomed Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham as a featured speaker at the Reproductive Freedom Caucus at last week’s Texas Democratic Party Convention in Corpus Christi. We met dozens of supporters, collected pledge to vote cards, and had meaningful conversations about the future of reproductive freedom in our state. Thank you to all who stopped by our booth and to our volunteers who helped make this year’s TDP convention a success!

When when confronted Senator Hall about the devastating consequences of Texas’ abortion bans, he chose to blame doctors instead of taking responsibility for the laws he helped create.

That’s easy to do when you’re not the one sitting across from a patient.

He’s not the doctor forced to tell a woman she has to wait until her condition worsens before providing care. He’s not the physician trying to navigate laws that carry severe criminal and civil penalties while doing everything possible to protect a patient’s life. And he’s not the one who has to look a family in the eye when those laws stand in the way of timely medical care.

Doctors in and outside of Texas have warned lawmakers that these bans create confusion, fear, and dangerous delays to cate. They’ve asked for clearer guidance. And some have even left Texas because they no longer feel they can safely practice medicine here.

Instead of listening to the medical professionals on the front lines, Senator Hall blamed them.

It’s time for Senator Hall and anti-healthcare lawmakers to stop shifting blame and start taking responsibility for the harm they’ve caused Texans.

06/26/2026

Texas lawmakers continue to funnel hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars into Crisis Pregnancy Centers while refusing to hold them to the same standards as legitimate health care providers—and at the same time, they’ve worked to exclude trusted providers like Planned Parenthood from state-funded programs and Medicaid.

While Texans are forced to navigate extreme abortion bans, they’re also being forced to navigate Crisis Pregnancy Centers that present themselves as health care providers but are not held to basic health care standards. Women are put at risk by deceptive practices, unqualified staff, and a complete lack of accountability—all while these centers continue to receive taxpayer funding.

Texans deserve accurate medical information, qualified medical professionals, and accountability for organizations receiving taxpayer dollars.

Yesterday, our Government Relations and Political Director, Darcy Caballero, testified before the Senate State Affairs Committee about a Texas woman who nearly lost her life and fertility after being told by a crisis pregnancy center that she had a healthy pregnancy when she was actually experiencing an ectopic pregnancy.

Instead of reckoning with how Texas lawmakers have allowed crisis pregnancy centers to operate with little to no oversight or accountability and continue to funnel hundreds of millions of dollars their way, Senator Hall dismissed those concerns and changed the subject.

This hearing could not have made their priorities any clearer. When confronted with the real-world consequences of their policies, anti-healthcare politicians like Senator Hall dismiss women’s experiences, downplay risks to women’s health, and refuse to acknowledge the harm happening right in front of them.

We’ll keep showing up and telling the truth anyway.

Four years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court stripped away a constitutional right that generations before us fought to secure, effectively overturning Roe v. Wade and our federally protected right to an abortion.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Roe was the floor, not the ceiling.

We’re fighting to restore our rights and build a future in which Texans are free to make their own health care decisions without interference from politicians and a court system determined to turn their backs on us. We’re not giving up, and neither should you. ✊
