Throwback Thursday: This week we’ll focus on some Averill Park residents we can identify. The Beebe family lived on Johnny Cake Lane in the late 1800s. Gilbert was a blacksmith and had a shop behind his home. Julia, his wife gave birth to two children, Alice and Bertie pictured here. Bertie died when he was 8 years old in 1888. Alice also pictured here lived to be 89 years old, 1882-1971. The men pictured were neighbors/hunters, Joseph Kehn and Elmer Brownhardt.
Thanks to wonderful Sand Lake Town Historian Bob Moore for this write-up and the photos.

Throwback Thursday: This will be our last week to focus on the Taborton/Alps photo album. We are still searching for clues from last week’s photo with the name H. E. Snow. Today let’s start with Rocky Rest from July 17th to August 1st 1890. We also have what looks like an old sawmill and family home. Again, please contact us if you can help with identifying any of these photos.

Thanks to Sand Lake Town Historian Bob Moore for the photos and info.

Throwback Thursday: For the past two weeks we've been pulling photos from an old photo album. As the binding on this old album has deteriorated, we have found a name on the left of the page with the last photo, H. E. Snow. The dates are April 9, 1891 and April 7, 1891. We’re looking into the Snow family from West Stephentown hoping for some identification.

Thanks to our questing Sand Lake Town Historian Bob Moore for the photos and his delving into our local past.
If you see anything you think you recognize, please share! We're particularly intrigued by the first photo. What are these gentlemen preparing for? And check out that pipe the fellow on the right has!

I had a lot of difficult days in childhood and getting my first library card and being able to spend time at the library was such a gift! I’m so grateful to all the work the libraries across the world do!

Throwback Thursday: This week we have another group of Alps/Taborton photos marked only with the date, September 5th 1890. Looks like the Alps, though we don't have a concrete id. If anyone can help identifying the people in these photos please contact us.
Thanks to our ever questing & questioning Sand Lake Town Historian Bob Moore for the photos.
