🚒 Training Night Spotlight: Search & Rescue 🚒

This week, members of the Avilla Fire Department sharpened their search and rescue skills through hands-on training designed to prepare for one of the most critical aspects of our job—locating and rescuing victims in emergency situations.

Training focused on search techniques, communication, team coordination, victim removal, and operating safely in low-visibility environments. Regular training like this helps ensure our firefighters are ready to respond effectively when seconds matter most.

A big thank you to everyone who dedicated their time to improving their skills and commitment to serving our community. Training never stops, because our community deserves the best prepared responders possible.

🚗 Reminder! Our FREE Car Seat Check Event is Tomorrow! 🚗

Don’t forget to bring your child and vehicle for a professional car seat check to help ensure your little ones are riding as safely as possible.

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be on site to inspect your car seat installation, answer questions, and provide education to help keep your child safe on the road.

Please note: Technicians will assist and educate but will not install car seats for you.

The Noble County Sheriff’s Department would like to provide the following information to a new Scam happening in our area.

If you receive a letter from the FDIC indicating that your bank is compromised, IT IS A SCAM. Do not respond or provide any personal information over the phone or internet. Government agencies doing business with you already have this information. This letter contains several typographical, grammatical and formatting errors. They have been highlighted for your information. We strongly recommend that you always protect your personal identity information and check credit reports annually through all three reporting agencies (Experian, Transunion and Equifax).

🚗👶 REMINDER: Avilla Fire Department Car Seat Checkup Event! 👶🚗

Have questions about your child’s car seat? Want to make sure it’s installed correctly and keeping your child as safe as possible?

Join us on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Avilla Fire Department (200 S Main St, Avilla) for our FREE Car Seat Checkup Event!

✅ Car Seat Inspections
✅ Child Passenger Safety Education
✅ Assistance with Car Seat Installation
✅ Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians on site

Appointments are available, but not required. Some car seats may be available for families who qualify for state assistance.

Road closure information received from Noble County:

OLD SR 3 FROM SR 205 TO BASELINE ROAD WILL BE CLOSED FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION.

STARTING MAY 26 THROUGH JULY 30, 2026

OLD SR 3 WILL BE RECEIVING A STRUCTURAL HMA OVERLAY. DETOUR ROUTE SIGNAGE AND PRE-CLOSURE SIGNAGE IS CURRENTLY BEING INSTALLED.
