AVP held its annual Emergency Plan Review this morning. Led by Denise Price, Assistant Director of Public Safety at AVP, Airport Management, as well as Airport Tenants and local/regional first responders were on hand to have an in-depth, informative discussion regarding the Airport. Special thanks to the presenters, including: Sam Sanguedolce, Luzerne County District Attorney; Anthony DiVirgilio, McAdoo Police Dept.; Charles Krommes and Brian Black, Luzerne County Dept. of Emergency Services; and Wally Boyle, EMS of Northeast PA. Other attendees included: Lucy Morgan, Director, Luzerne County Dept. of Emergency Services; FAA ATC; TSA (local and regional); American Airlines; Breeze Airways; United Express; AVP Security Officers; AVP ARFF Team; FBI Scranton; Pittston Twp. Police & Fire; and the Luzerne County Detectives. Thank you all!

PUBLIC ADVISORY ( #2 of 2) (4/5/24):

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 struck near North Plainfield, NJ, at approx. 10:25 AM this morning, and was felt here at AVP.

Please be advised the Airport is OPEN and is not experiencing any delays or cancellations due to the event.

PUBLIC ADVISORY ( #1 of 2) (4/5/24):

Approximately 70 military helicopters will be flying through AVP's airspace this weekend (Saturday, Sunday and Monday).

AVP officials were informed they will be departing from the Rome, NY area in small groups, continuing through AVP's airspace to their final destination in the Philadelphia area. The times are unknown, and they could vary each day.

The public is advised that this is ONLY AN EXERCISE, and there is no need for concern.
