Press Release #1 – Fall Injury / MedFlight Response

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On May 26, 2026, at approximately 10:39 a.m., the Iowa County 911 Center received a call reporting that a male subject had fallen from a ladder on James Road in the Town of Dodgeville. Initial information indicated the subject had fallen approximately 25 to 30 feet, landing on rock terrain.

The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Dodgeville Fire Department and Dodgeville EMS, responded to the scene.

During the 911 call, Iowa County dispatchers utilized advanced emergency response technology through Prepared Live, allowing the 911 operator to view the scene in real time and assess the severity of the injuries prior to first responders arriving on scene. Based on the critical nature of the incident, UW Med Flight was contacted and began preparing for transport within minutes of the original 911 call, helping save valuable time during the emergency response.

A 25-year-old male from Bagley, Wisconsin, was transported by UW Med Flight to UW Hospital in Madison in critical condition.

No further information will be released at this time.

The Storm Prediction Center has made little changes to the threat for severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening. All severe hazards are still possible in southern Wisconsin, including the threat for tornadoes. Weather models are trending towards a few lines of severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening, posing mostly damaging winds and brief spin-up tornado threats. We are also monitoring the chance that morning storms may hopefully linger long enough to take away some energy from the atmosphere. This may help to reduce the severe weather threats in the afternoon and evening. Forecast: bit.ly/2VWyK9q
