If passed the November Bond would include additional driveways for Farrell-Emmett and Avoca Elementary Schools. The driveways would be added on our existing property and will make for safer drop off and pick up for students and parents.

Kenockee Township Fire Department is amazing! Avoca Elementary was so fortunate to have learned about Fire Safety from the Kenockee Township Firefighters, three of whom are AES alumni! Thank you for helping to keep our students, families and community safe! ❤️🤍💙

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Mrs. Silkworth, YPSD Director of Business Services and Master Gardener, for generously sharing her time, talents, and resources with Avoca Elementary!

Mrs. Silkworth shared a lesson with our 4th graders about the flower bulb anatomy and techniques on how to successfully plant the bulbs. Then, the 4th graders, along with Mrs. Silkworth, Dr. Phillips and a VIP guest (who wishes to remain anonymous), planted hyacinths, crocuses, tulips, and daffodils all around the front of our school. 🌼 🌷

Thanks to their kindness and expertise, these bulbs will bring the promise of a beautiful and colorful spring for many years to come!

AES is so grateful! 💙🐾

Happy to share this incredible news…

We are thrilled to share that our district has been awarded a $388,000 grant from the State of Michigan to expand our local Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings over the next three years!

Our goal is to give 10th–12th grade students hands-on exposure to high-demand trades before they decide to apply for TEC or launch their future careers.

What’s coming for our students:
High-Tech Simulators: Practice with state-of-the-art simulators and trainers for heavy equipment (skid steers, forklifts, excavators) and welding.

Hands-On Trade Skills: Learn the basics of home plumbing (sinks and drains), electrical work, simple welding, and drywall essentials.

Design & Innovation: Explore Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing with modern tools.

Facility Plans:
If the November 3rd bond proposal passes, we plan to house the simulators, 3D printers, CAD software, and clean manufacturing in the updated Media Center space. The hands-on welding, carpentry, drywall, and electrical training will be located in our current Geometry in Construction space.

Timeline:
We will spend this school year planning and ordering equipment, with plans to have the new class fully operational for students next school year!

Stay tuned as we get everything ready to bring these practical, real-world learning opportunities to Yale High School!

Greatness
