Please join us in congratulating Officer Melda! After serving the citizens of Avon Lake for nearly 13 years as a Part-Time Patrolman, he has accepted a position full time with another department. During his time with the ALPD, Ofc. Melda has been an invaluable part of the team and performed specialized assignments with our bicycle patrol and honor guard. Congratulations Jason!

Our condolences go out to Ed Moran's friends, family, and loved ones. In his 42 years working for the City's Service Department and the citizens of Avon Lake, not only was Ed was integral in fixing anything we at the the PD could throw at him but the friendship he also provided was invaluable.

Sextortion relies on fear. Once a young person knows they can ask for help, the offender's power begins to collapse.

Talk to your kids & educate them on internet safety. Let them know you are a safe place to go for help.
