To Aktion Club members:

Due to several people going out of town, vacationing, and dealing with other matters plus the cost of gas and other expenses, Aktion Club will be postponing meetings and activities for May and June to give everyone a break. We will regroup in July.

So, yes that means there is NO meeting next week, May 14. If you have diapers or wipes to donate, call Cindy this week to set up a pick up.

No Mall Walk on May 18, but if anyone wants to walk on June 1 and 15 come on out at 4 p.m.

Cindy

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we remember Dennis “Gerald” Bass, a man whose presence made the world a brighter, kinder place. He was a man who truly loved his family and embraced life with open arms, no matter what it brought his way. Through every high and low, he carried a smile that could lift spirits and a heart full of joy that never seemed to fade.
He had a rare gift — he never met a stranger. To him, every face was simply a friend he hadn’t yet spoken to. His laughter was easy, his kindness genuine, and his spirit unforgettable. Life was not always easy, but Gerald faced it all with quiet strength and an unshakable belief in finding the good. Even in difficult times, he chose hope. Even in hardship, he chose to smile. That outlook didn’t just carry him through — it inspired everyone lucky enough to know him.
He was, at his core, a cowboy — not just in style, but in spirit. Music filled his soul, often serving as the soundtrack to his days, and his loyalty to his beloved Bucs was unwavering, bringing him both joy and spirited conversation.
Gerald was a member of Aktion Club of Highlands County, Special Olympics and Special STARS. He did powerlifting, softball, tennis, bowling, swimming, basketball and often performed in the STARS Got Talent Show and won many awards. He was a true showman.
Above all, Gerald was a family man. His love for those closest to him ran deep and true, steady as a heartbeat. He gave his time, his laughter, and his whole heart without hesitation. He is survived by his mother, Sandi Bass, and his sister Kristin Pfennig (Brent) of Sebring. He was a proud uncle to niece Savannah and nephews Austin and Collin, who will carry his love and laughter forward. To his family, he was not just a presence — he was a constant reminder of what it means to love fully.
Though he may no longer walk beside us, Gerald’s spirit lives on in every shared story, every burst of laughter, and every moment of kindness passed forward. His legacy is one of love, resilience, and joy — a reminder that even in the face of life’s storms, we can still choose to smile. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, always loved and forever talked about—probably with a laugh or two along the way.
Arrangements entrusted to: Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Sebring, Florida www.stephensonnelsonfh.com.
Everyone with the Aktion Club will deeply miss Gerald and send our condolences to his family.
