Headline: Training and Tradition in the Panhandle! 🚒🇺🇸
​I recently had the honor of traveling to Blountstown to spend time with the dedicated crews of Calhoun County and several neighboring counties. Seeing our regional departments come together is a powerful reminder of the strength of our volunteer fire service.
​As the Director of Volunteer Fire Service, I believe leadership is about preparing our teams for the moments that matter most. While we were there, I was proud to lead First Aid and CPR classes for our volunteers, ensuring they have the life-saving skills needed to protect our communities.
​Of course, we also made sure to celebrate our local traditions! I was right there in the bays with the teams decorating the fire trucks to make sure they looked their best for the parade.
​The Florida State Firefighters Association (FSFA) is committed to this "united front"—providing the training, support, and professional standards that our volunteers deserve. Whether it’s mastering CPR or prepping a truck for a hometown crowd, our members bring 100% heart and professionalism to the job.
​Thank you to the people of Blountstown and Calhoun County for the incredible hospitality. It is a privilege to lead and train alongside the finest men and women in the Florida fire service.

4:30 AM Friday, Nov. 7th: Patchy fog, locally dense, has developed this morning across the area. Take it slow on the roads if you encounter fog, and add a few minutes to your morning commute just in case. And keep those headlights on in fog, even after the sun rises.
