May 15th is National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, is National Police Week.
This week is a time to honor and appreciate America's Law Enforcement communities for all that they do.
May 15th is dedicated to pay special recognition to those Law Enforcement Officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in the line of duty, for the safety and protection of others.

This past week Sergeant Raspardo, Sergeant Connole and Officer Guth traveled to Washington DC for Police Week and participated in some of the many events over the last 5 days. They also found Officer Raimundi and Officer Kimball at the memorial candle lighting.

Thank you to all Law Enforcement Officers for your service and dedication.

An incredible event every year! Sergeant Connole always puts in a great amount of effort to make this night better and better each time.
A stunning display of community, we raised over $16,000 for the Connecticut Special Olympics!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of being able to promote 2 well deserving Avon Police Officers! A promotion ceremony was held for Police Officer Kay Staszewski who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and Sergeant Jeffrey Gilbert who was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant! Accompanied by fellow Officers and APD staff, as well as family and friends, we were able to celebrate this great achievement!
