What a busy week in Albany. In between committee meetings and floor activity, I joined colleagues and local corrections officer representatives to once again call for meaningful reform in our correctional facilities. It’s been a full year with no real solutions implemented to improve safety for incarcerated individuals, correctional staff, or civilian employees — and that needs to change.
I was also honored to recognize Heather Ferrero, Deputy Director of Planning for Livingston County, as my Women’s History Month nominee. Celebrating her on the Assembly Floor and at a luncheon was a true highlight.
We wrapped up our time at the Capitol with one of my favorite traditions: honoring local West Point Cadets on the Assembly Floor. Their accomplishments and dedication are truly impressive.
Once back in the district, I had the joy of joining local 2nd graders for this month’s Ag in the Classroom lesson. We read a book together, talked about the seasons on the farm, and completed a fun hands‑on activity. Their enthusiasm always brings a smile.
