The Avon Police Department is seeking qualified, motivated individuals to join our team and serve the Avon community!

👮Testing begins with physical and written testing on Saturday, October 17, 2026, 7:30AM-5PM at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.

👮 If you pass both the physical and written, you'll move on to the Interviews which will be held over a period of three days, October 27, 28 & 29, 2026 at the Avon Police Department.

UPDATED 2027 PAY RATES!
👮 Starting Probationary Officer: $78,506
🚔 First Class Patrol Officer: $84,018
(First class patrol officer status achieved after completion of first year for new officers and upon completion of FTO for lateral officers.)

Officers McDaniel and Brace were recognized by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute as traffic safety all-pros which was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway today September 25, 2026.

To qualify for the Traffic Safety All-Star Award, officers must demonstrate significant accomplishments in Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) enforcement and participate in at least one of the state's enhanced enforcement campaigns during the previous year.

Congratulations Officer McDaniel and Officer Brace and thank you for keeping our community a safer place by getting impaired drivers off the roadway.

The Avon Police Department is hiring for the position of police officer. Testing will begin on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Doors open at 7:30am with physical assessment of the process starting promptly at 8:00am. At the conclusion of the physical, we'll break for lunch then have applicant's return for the written assessment.

Applicants that pass both the written and physical tests move on to the interview phase. Structured oral interviews will be held on October 27th, 28th, and 29th.
