The Avon Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce the signing and purchase of a new Pierce fire engine through Emergency Atlantic Solutions.
This investment represents our continued commitment to providing the highest level of fire protection and emergency services to the community of Avon and the many visitors who come to enjoy our area each year. As our community grows and call demands evolve, it is critical that we equip our firefighters with reliable, modern apparatus capable of meeting those challenges.
The new engine will enhance our operational capabilities, improve response efficiency, and ensure we remain prepared to protect lives and property.
We would like to thank our community for their continued support, as well as our partners at Emergency Atlantic Solutions for their assistance throughout this process.
Additional updates will be shared as the build progresses, and we look forward to placing this new apparatus into service for the benefit of those we serve.

Yesterday, April 4, 2026, members of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department had the opportunity to train at the Buxton Burn Building, sharpening critical skills that help us better serve our community. Training evolutions included search operations, hose line advancement, VEIS (Vent, Enter, Isolate, Search), and pump operations—all conducted under realistic smoke conditions.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Roanoke Island Volunteer Fire Department for their support in sending an engine and crew to cover Avon’s fire district during this time. Their assistance ensured our community remained protected while our members focused on advancing their training.
Strong partnerships like this are what keep our fire service moving forward. Thank you again to Roanoke Island VFD for your commitment and support!
