Avon Memorial Day Parade

The Avon Businessmen’s Association is planning the annual Memorial Day Parade. Linda Hammargren and Stephanie McKinley-Miller are in the process of organizing the annual event. The parade will start off at 11:00a.m. and proceed to the cemetery for the Roll Call of the Dead. There will be transportation for those Veterans wishing to ride in the parade. There will also be hayracks at the cemetery to bring parade walkers back to the Fire House. Those parade marchers who return their flags will receive a certificate for ice cream at Just Not Another Dip. We want to make sure that the roll call is up to date. If you have a loved one who was buried at the cemetery since Memorial Day 2025, please contact Stephanie McKinley-Miller at [email protected] with the name and when he/she served. We try to keep up to date on names, and do not want to miss anyone. In case of rain, the ceremony will be hold at the fire station.

The Avon Fire Department is having their annual porkchop/ hotdog meal fundraiser. The Avon Methodist Church a member of the Global Methodist Church will have desserts available. Please support both worthy efforts.

Come eat lunch with us and support Baby Elias on Sunday April 19th from noon until ?? One of our local fireman and his wife became proud parents of this precious baby boy about a month ago. Eli was born with a serious heart condition called TGA. He's already had life saving procedures and will need open heart surgery soon, which comes with mounting medical costs and travel expenses. Family Fun Concessions will be serving food at the Avon Fire station. ALL proceeds raised will be donated to the Howe family. Come support the cause and enjoy some tasty carnival food! Let's fill the boot!!!!!

We wanted to share some information directly affecting our department and community. One of our Firefighters that serves our community has a need for us to rally and help support their family. Baby Elias, who was born with a serious heart condition called TGA. He’s already had life-saving procedures and will need open-heart surgery soon, which comes with mounting medical bills and travel costs for his family. Help the Avon Fire Department by donating unneeded items you have sitting around. We are raising money to contribute funds jointly with the Avon Businessmen to install a new lighted Marquee at the fire station. It will be installed on Main Street, scroll community events and brighten up the main drag! The online auction will be May 28th. Watch for it on Hibid. Thanks to Janssen Auctioneers for organizing.
