Welcome to Avon Summer Program email went out by email today and information below:

EXCITED FOR SUMMER! ☀️
We are looking forward to a fun and memorable summer with your children! Please review the important information and reminders below.
Program Location
The Summer Program will be held at Ralph D. Butler Elementary School, located at 1 Patrick Clark Drive, Avon, MA 02322.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures
To help ensure a smooth and efficient process, we will have a rolling drop-off and pick-up system. Parents/guardians should remain in their vehicles, and staff will assist children as they arrive and depart.
Please be patient during the first few days, as drop-off and pick-up may take a little longer while everyone adjusts to the routine.
Important: New this year: NO vehicles will be allowed on the back side of Butler School. If you arrive late or need to pick up your child early, please park in front of the school and walk to the back of the school, or call us at 508-944-0084.
If your child(ren) walk to the program they will need to check in in front of the school with Kylie out front before heading into the program.
Program Hours
The Summer Program runs from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Children must be dropped off and picked up during the designated times. Our counselors use the time before and after the program to prepare activities and will not be available for early drop-offs or late pick-ups.
Attendance
New this year: If your child will be absent from the program at any time, please notify us as soon as possible. If you have vacations, please inform us so we can prepare supply ordering. This also helps us plan staffing appropriately and allows our counselors to make the most of their schedules.
Parent/Guardian Participation
For the safety and structure of the program, parents and guardians will not be permitted to remain on-site during program hours.
Facilities & Weather
• We will have access to the school's bathrooms throughout the day.
• The gymnasium will be available for use during inclement weather.
What to Bring
• Plenty of water and other hydrating fluids
• Sunscreen applied before arrival
• Clearly labeled personal belongings
Please note that Avon Park & Recreation is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items brought to the program.
Cell phones may be brought to the program but must remain put away during activities unless otherwise directed by staff.
Medication: Medication will need to be received by leadership (Christina, Alison or Kylie). Children will not be allowed to hand off medication and will not be allowed to hold any medication. All medication will need to have written instructions from your child( ren) Doctor, and a written Park and Recreation form filled out. Medication can be dropped off ahead of time to the Christina at the Civic Center on 7/1 and 7/2. Please contact us at 508-944-0084 to set up a time.
Lunch Information
New this year: Avon Public Schools will be offering lunch to our program participants, and all participants will eat together as a group. Menus will be shared and posted as they become available. If your child will be bringing food to the program, please let us know so that we can be sure to make appropriate arrangements for participants with allergies. If your child has dietary restrictions or food sensitivities, please contact us at 508-944-0084.
New this year: Please note that food deliveries will not be permitted at any time.
Please make sure your child(ren) has breakfast before coming to the program.
Information about snacks will be communicated the week before the program starts.
Field Trips
Field trip registration is open! Be sure to sign up to secure your child's spot.
New this year: Field trips need to be paid in full at least four business days ahead of the trip, so please plan accordingly. Tuesday's field trips list will be pulled on Thursday 10am and Thursdays field trips will be pulled on Monday at 10am.
Field trip information and reminders will be emailed each Thursday for the following week's activities. Some trips require additional permission forms or waivers. If applicable, you will receive an email with instructions to complete the necessary paperwork.
Weekly Communication
Weekly updates will be sent every Thursday and will include important reminders, schedules, field trip information, and any other updates for the upcoming week.
Questions?
If you have any questions, please call or text us at 508-944-0084.
