Performing Arts Programs is back in Avon this fall! 🎤🎶

We’re excited to offer several performing arts opportunities for children this season:
Acting Classes
Thursdays, October 1–November 12
Grades K–4: 5:05–6:00 PM
Grades 5–8: 6:05–7:00 PM

Community Voices Youth Choir
Tuesdays, September 29–December 1 (Recital December 8)
Ages 7–12: 5:15–6:30 PM
No experience required!

Fall Performing Arts Open House
Thursday, September 10
5:00–6:30 PM
Avon Senior Center, Community Room

Stop by the Open House to meet Michael Lamb, learn more about the programs, ask questions, and find out which opportunity might be a good fit for your child.

🏀 AVON BASKETBALL REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! 🏀

It’s time to hit the court! Registration is officially open for both Avon Recreation Basketball and Avon Travel Basketball for the 2026–2027 season.

Not sure which program is the right fit?

🏀 Recreation Basketball | Grades 2–8
Focus on fundamentals, skill development and gameplay with one practice per week and Saturday games. Season runs December–February.

🏀 Travel Basketball | Grades 4–8
For players looking for a more competitive basketball experience, with two practices per week and approximately two games per weekend. Season runs November–March.

Planning to try out for Travel? You can still register for Rec! If you register for both programs and your child is selected for a Travel team, Avon Recreation will refund your Recreation registration.

📅 Travel registration closes September 24
📅 Recreation registration closes October 7

🐾 Happy National Dog Day from Avon Recreation & Parks! 🐾

Around here, we believe parks are better with four-legged friends! 🌳🐕

Today, we’re introducing a few very important members of the Recreation Office extended team: Jasper, Christo & Cleo! While they may not be on the official payroll, they take their responsibilities very seriously — inspecting walking trails, testing the best spots for a good sniff, and reminding their humans that getting outside is always a good idea.

On National Dog Day, give your favorite pup a little extra love — and celebrate with a walk in one of Avon’s beautiful parks! Don't forget to bring your doggy waste bags! 💚

Calling all future stars! 🎭

Registration is now open for Acting Classes for students in grades K–8! These classes are about more than learning how to perform — students will build confidence, creativity, communication skills, and teamwork in a welcoming environment.

Led by Michael Lamb, participants will explore acting technique, scene work, improvisation, stage presence, and more. No prior acting experience is needed!

Give your child a fun introduction to saving, spending, budgeting, and even giving back through My First Piggy Bank with SPARK Business Academy!

Designed for Grades K-2, this hands-on program uses games and interactive activities to teach important financial skills in a way kids will love. Plus, each participant will create and take home their very own piggy bank!
