This past week Program Coordinators Julia Lewis and Brian Nugent conducted a PLS training for the Massac County Sheriff's Office down in Metropolis, IL. We love that we get to help spread the skills and knowledge that go into keeping our community members safe to other agencies! Congrats Massac County for bringing in this great resource for your community!

Champion Chevrolet of Avon has always been a great supporter of our program, and here they are again. Looking for something to do with the family today? Come on down to Champion Chevrolet's Community Day from 10am-3pm! Proceeds from the car show will help support Project Lifesaver's work here in Hendricks County, and there will be so many fun things for everyone to get up to! We have seen a huge influx of followers, supporters, and new clients in the wake of this past week's tragedy, and while we are horribly saddened by what has happened, we are so immensely grateful to the community members helping to spread information about our program to those in need in Hendricks County. Our hearts and prayers are with Fiedwenya Fiefe and her family as we continue to search for her. Plainfield PD and Plainfield Fire Territory have been utilizing all available officers while working with state and local agencies to assist in the search. We are using every resource that we have to include drones, rescue canines, watercraft, and off-road vehicles. While we have had to scale back our search due to the darkness we will continue searching throughout the night until morning when we can increase our saturation of the area. We will never stop searching for Fiedwenya until we find her.

Looking for resources to help a loved one living with disabilities? Project Lifesaver of Hendricks County will be in attendance at the WSTC Transition Fair at Avon High School on Tuesday, March 1st, from 5:30-8:00pm along with over 40 other venders. There will be teen activities, concessions, and live presentations covering the Indiana Medicaid Waivers, financial planning, and guardianship issues. We'd love to see current PLS families there and would be happy to speak with any that are potentially interested in joining the program, so please help us spread the word!
