At Decide DeKalb, that work is strengthened through collaboration across the county and through our industry advisory councils, which bring employers and community leaders together to help shape the workforce of the future.

Because a stronger workforce means a stronger DeKalb.

Leadership is measured not only by the role you hold, but by the people you bring together, the conversations you move forward and the community you help strengthen.

Last Thursday, we celebrated an important chapter at the Leadership DeKalb Annual Dinner as Dorian DeBarr concluded his term as Chair of the Leadership DeKalb Board of Directors.

Throughout his tenure, Dorian brought the same commitment to collaboration, connection and opportunity that guides his work every day at Decide DeKalb. It was especially meaningful to close out his term surrounded by Leadership DeKalb alumni, friends and fellow community leaders who share a commitment to making DeKalb stronger.

The evening was made even more special by the presence of former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, whose remarks offered a powerful reflection on leadership, service and the responsibility we all share in strengthening our communities. We’re grateful to Mayor Franklin for joining us and helping mark such a meaningful occasion.

Congratulations, Dorian, on a year of meaningful leadership and service. We’re proud of the impact you’ve made and grateful for the many ways you continue to champion DeKalb.

DeKalb County’s historic $155 million Housing Investment Bond is moving from planning to action.

The Decide DeKalb Board recently approved an agreement for Decide DeKalb to administer $75 million in housing investments as part of the County’s broader Housing Investment Bond Program.

The Housing Authority of DeKalb County has also approved its role in advancing the program, marking another important step in the coordinated effort to expand homeownership, preserve affordable housing, support longtime homeowners and create more housing opportunities across DeKalb.

Together with It's In DeKalb and other housing partners, we’re putting the resources and partnerships in place to turn this historic investment into meaningful impact for DeKalb residents and neighborhoods.
