🚒 Atmos Facility Walk-Through 🚒

Today, personnel from the Avondale Fire Department, Bridge City Fire Department, and Nine Mile Point Fire Department participated in a walk-through of the new Atmos Energy facility.

Atmos representatives provided an overview of the facility's operations, natural gas systems, safety features, and emergency shutdown procedures. Firefighters toured the site, identified key access points, discussed potential hazards, and reviewed emergency response considerations.

Pre-incident planning events like these are critical to ensuring our firefighters are familiar with the facilities in our response area and are prepared to respond safely and effectively during an emergency.

We would like to thank Atmos Energy for hosting this informative tour and for their commitment to working with local first responders to enhance community safety.

🚒🇺🇸 AVFD Supports Tunnel to Towers! 🏃‍♂️

The Avondale Volunteer Fire Department is proud to support the Greater New Orleans Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk as we honor the sacrifice of fallen first responders, military heroes, and their families.

The 2026 Zurich Classic will be beginning today Sunday April 19, 2026. Please be aware of altered traffic routes and closures.

LAPALCO BLVD.

From 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 19, 2026 until 7:00 PM April 26, LAPALCO BLVD. between US 90 and Segnette/Nicolle Blvd. will be under modified traffic plans. The Westbound lanes will be closed to traffic, while the Eastbound lanes will accommodate two-way traffic.



NICOLLE BLVD.

From 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM starting on Thursday, April 23, 2026until Sunday, April 26, 2026 Nicolle Blvd. @ NOLA Motorsport to Pat Dr. will be closed to thru traffic. Nicolle Blvd. will re-open nightly until 5:00 AM.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Jefferson Parish, announces the following traffic management road closure for the 2026 Zurich Classic at TPC of Louisiana next week.
