🚔 This Is Policing: The Untold Story 🚔

What began as a welfare check led officers to an elderly, bedridden woman who had unexpectedly been left without her caretaker.

Over the next two days, officers made sure she wasn’t alone. They checked on her, cleaned up her living area, fed her dogs, and even made her breakfast. Most importantly, they worked to coordinate care and ensure she had the support she needed moving forward.

Sometimes the badge means more than enforcing the law. Sometimes it means being a helping hand, providing comfort, and making sure someone knows they haven’t been forgotten.

These are the moments that rarely make headlines, but they remind us that policing is about serving people in their time of need.

This is policing. The Untold Story.💙

Teamwork saves lives! 🐾🚒

Today, our Animal Control Officer and helped with a 4-week-old kitten that had climbed nearly 25 feet up a tree. Avondale Fire positioned their bucket ladder near the kitten and carefully used a shovel to nudge the kitten off the branch, allowing our Animal Control Officer to safely catch it in a net. Thanks to the teamwork between Animal Control and Fire the kitten was rescued without injury.

The tiny survivor has been named Ember and is currently safe with family.

Great work by everyone involved in giving Ember a second chance! 💙🐱

Wishing everyone a great day from squad 2! ☀️ Stay safe, look out for one another, and remember to slow down and drive carefully. 🚔

➡️ Did you know our officers have an “end of year” similar to schools? Each year, our officers have the opportunity to bid to different squads (shifts).

As this year comes to an end, this squad wrapped up a great year together, building strong bonds, creating lasting memories, and working side by side to help keep our community safe.💙

🚔 This Is Policing: The Untold Story 🚔

What started as a welfare check after neighbors heard a woman crying for help quickly turned into a life-saving response.

Officers made contact with the woman, who explained she had fallen and couldn’t get up. With the front door locked and no safe way inside, one officer removed his equipment and, with a boost from another officer, squeezed through a small window to gain entry.

Once inside, officers were able to help her up and get her the medical attention she needed.

Policing is more than lights and sirens. Sometimes it’s teamwork, quick thinking, and doing whatever it takes to help someone in need.

✨ Employee Spotlight ✨

Officers Pistoia and Martinez went above and beyond the call of duty when responding to assist an elderly resident in need.

After discovering the front door was deadbolted and they could not gain entry, the officers made verbal contact with the resident through a small window and learned she had fallen in the bathroom and was unable to get up.

Without hesitation, Officer Pistoia removed his gear and, with assistance from Officer Martinez, was boosted through the small window to unlock the door from inside. The officers were then able to safely reach and assist the resident.

Great job 💙
