Cleanup and service restoration take time and effort, and can be a slow process depending on the severity.

Safety is always our top priority. Once conditions are safe to start working, we have to clear hazards like downed power lines and trees and blocked roads before crews can assess the damage and begin making repairs. Then:

1️⃣ Repair high-voltage lines that provide electricity to local lines
2️⃣ Critical public service facilities
3️⃣ Outages impacting the most customers
4️⃣ Localized problems & individual customers

⚠️ As high winds move through, stay alert for downed or low-hanging power lines. Assume ANY line is energized! Stay 30+ feet away from the line and anything it might be touching. Use extra caution where lines are tangled in trees or debris.
