Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for Grasping the Groundwork: Your College Journey Begins Here! 🎓⚡

It was great to see our seniors and families taking time early in the school year to learn more about the college application process, financial aid, scholarships, and the important steps students can begin taking now to prepare for life after graduation.

A special thank you to Kasey Perkins from the East Carolina University Honors College for joining us and sharing valuable information with our students and families. We also appreciate our AGHS Counseling Department and College Adviser for organizing the event and continuing to provide our Chargers with the resources, guidance, and support they need throughout their senior year.

Also, a huge thank you to Jayla Council from PCC for joining us too and sharing about the trio program at PCC.

Our goal is to make sure every senior has a plan and knows they have a team at AGHS ready to help them take that next step.

Thank you to all of our families who attended and invested in your student’s future. The Class of 2027 is just getting started! 💚💛

There is so much to celebrate at Ayden-Grifton High School!

Our 2025–2026 results reflect the hard work, commitment, and belief of an entire Charger Family. From our students showing up and putting in the work, to our staff providing high-quality instruction and support, to our families and community standing alongside us—this accomplishment belongs to all of us.

We are proud to celebrate:

📈 The highest growth score in school history — Exceeded Growth!
📚 Significant gains in overall achievement, Biology, Math I, and ACT/WorkKeys
⭐ Performance Score of 73 (Improved 18 points)
🏆 The first B School Report Card grade in AGHS history!

These results are worth celebrating, but what makes us most proud is how we got here—together.

⚡ CHARGER WEEKLY FAMILY UPDATE | AUGUST 31–SEPTEMBER 7 ⚡

Charger families, we had a great first week of school! Our staff is setting high expectations, our students are rising to meet them, and we are ready to keep that momentum going as we continue our Relentless Pursuit of Excellence!

📚 ReCharge Sign-Ups
On Monday, students will report to homeroom during the ReCharge block to select their ReCharge sessions through September 8. Students should complete their selections so they know where to report each day.

🚗 Driver’s Education
Registration is open for our September 14–30 Driver’s Education class. Classes are from 3:45–6:45 PM with no classes on Fridays. The registration information is included in this week’s email.

🤝 Interact Club
Students in grades 9–12 are invited to join the AGHS Interact Club, sponsored by the Ayden Rotary Club. The first meeting is Tuesday, September 8 at 7:00 PM. Check out the flyer included with this week’s email for more information!

🎓 Senior Family Night
“Grasping the Groundwork” is Wednesday, September 2 from 6:00–7:00 PM in the AGHS Media Center. Seniors and families, join us as we begin preparing for the college journey!

🎭 Drama Club
Interested students should sign up in Flex to attend the Drama Club meeting during ReCharge on Thursday, September 3 in Room 407.

⏰ A Few Reminders
Tardies have started, so students should be on time to school and every class. Please continue following the PCS Dress Code, including removing hats and headwear inside the building. Attendance also matters for course credit and eligibility for teacher-made exam exemptions.
