Aliens👾 are not invading Azle, but Atmos Energy crews are!

White SUV's with mounted mobile leak detection units with flashing lights and labeled with an Atmos Energy logo or "Utility Contractor" will be driving through Azle as part of Atmos' safety survey of their natural gas distribution system. You will see them driving slowly in the street and alley at night, which ensures an accurate survey of our gas system.

🗓️WHEN: June 7 - 13, 2026
⏰TIME: 6 PM - 6 AM

It’s an exciting time to be in Azle. I look forward to working with Amber and the rest of council to begin the next chapter of our community.

After a nationwide search, Azle City Council voted unanimously on May 19, 2026, to appoint Amber Beard as the City of Azle’s new city manager.

Amber has served as Azle’s Assistant City Manager since April 2025 and has been leading as Interim City Manager over the past month following the retirement of former City Manager Tom Muir. She brings more than 14 years of municipal government experience and a strong commitment to public service.

“I'm honored and excited to serve as City Manager for the City of Azle. Since joining the City in April 2025 as Assistant City Manager, it has been a privilege to work alongside our dedicated employees and serve this community. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue moving Azle forward together," said Beard.

Please join us in congratulating Amber as she steps into this role and continues serving the Azle community! 💚

Today, we join the nation in observing National Peace Officers Memorial Day. On behalf of the City Council, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the men and women of our police department who put on the uniform every day to keep our neighborhoods safe.

We honor the courage of those currently serving and pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Our city is stronger and safer because of your dedication.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. We also stand with the families, friends, and fellow officers who carry their memory forward each day.

Please join us in remembering and honoring the fallen heroes who gave everything in the line of duty. Their legacy lives on through those who continue to serve. 💙

In 1962, President John Kennedy designated May 15 as National Peace Officers’ Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as National Police Week. President Trump has directed the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff on May 15, 2026 for Peace Officers Memorial Day to honor those who have given their lives to preserve and protect. Flags will fly at half-staff May 15 at City buildings. https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2026/05/peace-officers-memorial-day-and-police-week-2026/

Such an amazing opportunity for our community. This event was pulled off by some of the best staff our city has. From the golf team to the public works team who helped get our local course in great shape. One of the best things about being able to serve this community is seeing the entire city come together to pull off “the hard”. Thank you to every one who helped make this become a reality. No rest allowed though. Tomorrow the course will be hosting the City of Azle Chamber of Commerce tournament.

Pinay ace Pauline del Rosario 🇵🇭 and fellow Epson Tour campaigner Napat Lertsadwattana of Thailand show off their qualifier certificates after securing the two spots made available from the final qualifying event of the US Women's Open at the Cross Timbers course in Azle, Texas on Wednesday. Del Rosario and Napat wound up at -7 for two rounds played in one day.

We are so lucky to be supported by some of the best people in this city. It is such an honor to be just a small part in this community we get the privilege to call home.

It's Public Service Recognition Week, and we'd like to recognize the folks that keep the City of Azle running! You know, like....

🚨 The crews who are always on call in case something breaks, falls, floods, leaks, or catches on fire at 2am

📞 The staff answering phones when everyone’s already frustrated before they even say hello.

🚓🚒 The officers and firefighters stepping into situations most people are thankful they’ll never experience.

📚 The librarians helping kids learn, helping people find resources, and making life a little easier for the community every day.

💧 The utility workers out in the heat, cold, rain, and mud keeping essential services running.

📋 The planners and inspectors balancing growth, regulations, deadlines, and the ongoing jokes about car washes

🌳 The parks crews making sure our public spaces are clean, mowed, and always ready to enjoy

🗂️ The admins juggling schedules, meetings, paperwork, and about 47 other things behind the scenes.

💰 The finance dept making sure the numbers actually work and keeping us in line

…and that's not even everybody!

Public service isn’t glamorous most days. It’s just people showing up over and over because they care about their community. ❤️
