Thank you to all of the students who participated in our mascot tryouts. We were incredibly impressed by the enthusiasm, creativity, energy, and school spirit shown by everyone who stepped forward for this exciting opportunity.

The future of Tiger Pride is bright, and we can't wait to introduce our new mascot to the Aztec Schools community soon!

Did you know some apps are designed to look like calculators, photo folders, or other everyday tools while hiding photos, videos, messages, and other content?

As technology evolves, it's important for families to stay informed about the digital tools children and teens may be using. Open conversations, regular device check-ins, and awareness of online activity can help keep students safe.

The attached resources from Poms & Associates provide information about:

✅ Warning signs to watch for
✅ Steps parents can take to monitor devices
✅ When to seek help or report concerns

The internet offers incredible opportunities for learning, creativity, and connection. However, it is important for families and schools to remain aware of the risks that can exist in online spaces.

Law enforcement agencies across the country continue to warn about individuals and groups who use social media, gaming platforms, and messaging apps to build trust with young people before attempting to manipulate or exploit them.

Protecting students requires a strong partnership between school and home. Together, we can help by:

✅ Talking regularly about online safety
✅ Monitoring online activity and app usage
✅ Encouraging students to report concerning interactions
✅ Teaching responsible digital citizenship
✅ Recognizing warning signs of online exploitation

Today, students have the opportunity to become the very first performers of Aztec Schools' new Tiger mascot and help bring a new era of Tiger Pride to life!

We're looking for students who are energetic, enthusiastic, and ready to represent Aztec Schools at events, games, and throughout our community.

Summer Meals Program Information
We understand that some families have questions about why students must remain on-site to eat their meals during our Summer Meals Program.
The meals we provide are funded through the USDA's Summer Food Service Program/Seamless Summer Option. As a participating district, we are required to follow federal regulations governing how meals are served.
Under current federal guidelines, meals must be consumed at the approved meal site under what is called "congregate feeding." This means students are required to eat their meals at the designated location rather than taking them home. Districts that do not follow these requirements risk losing eligibility to participate in the program and provide free meals to children.
We recognize that this requirement can be inconvenient for some families. This is a federal program requirement and is not a policy established by Aztec Schools; however our staff are responsible for ensuring that the program operates in compliance with federal regulations so that we can continue offering free meals to children throughout the summer.
We appreciate your understanding and your support of this important program. Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming environment where children can enjoy a nutritious meal while school is out.

Students spent the day exploring more of Atlanta, meeting fellow SkillsUSA members from across the nation, and cheering on Jordyn as she competed in her event. We are incredibly proud of the dedication, leadership, and school spirit our students have shown throughout the week. 🔴⚪️
