Due to the flooding and its impact on our community, all parent-teacher conferences scheduled for today, Friday, October 23, have been canceled. Conferences will be rescheduled for a future date, and additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

Dear Families,
Who would have thought we would be talking about tornado warnings in October, in Aztec? Yet, here we are!
Out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to cancel today's parent-teacher conferences. While the risk may be relatively low, the safety of our students, staff, and families is always our top priority.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate some unexpected New Mexico weather! Please stay safe, and thank you for your continued support.
We will be providing additional communication in the future regarding rescheduling of the conferences that were originally planned for tonight.

For two weeks, the Farmington Area Single Track (F.A.S.T.) Program visited McCoy Elementary to teach our students bike safety and riding fundamentals. Despite a few minor bumps and bruises, the students had an incredible time and gained valuable skills.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to Chris Conelly, Coach Thompson and Nurse Holly for providing our students with such a wonderful experience. F.A.S.T. is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching youth mountain biking skills, safety, and the joy of riding throughout our community.

Hello Tiger Community,
As many families know, there has been alleged threats targeting area schools that are circulating on social media. Based on the information currently available from our law enforcement partners, these threats are believed to be a hoax.
While these threats do not appear credible, out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased law enforcement presence at all school sites today, October 21, 2026.
At this time, there is no known active or ongoing threat to our schools. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. We appreciate the partnership of local law enforcement and the understanding of our families and community.

The month of October is Fire Prevention Month! On Friday, the Aztec Fire Department stopped by McCoy Elementary to teach our students all about fire safety and prevention. Thank you to our local firefighters for spending time with our school and keeping our community safe!
