Thank you very much, Angeles Volunteer Association for stepping up, taking ownership, and stopping a potentially devastating wild fire. Some people have zero sense and this incident should have resulted in a criminal charge -- hopefully it did since that's often the only way to get people's attention, explain their behavior in front of a Judge.

Numerous hiking trails remain closed as the continues to burn and smolder in the burn footprint. Forest Service is dropping hazards and addressing soil shifts and boulders released due to burned brush, which means that the hiking trails will remain closed for an unknown amount of time.

Glendora Mountain Road and parts of the East Fork Road and Glendora Ridge Road are expected to remain closed at least until the start of January.

Highway 39 all the way to the Crystal Lake Recreation Area remain open for now, and camping at Coldbrook Campground and Crystal Lake are currently open, though snow may cause things to close.

Trash collection, November 30th!

West Fork Parking Lot along Highway 39 in the Angeles National Forest. Volunteers will be given work gloves and trash bags and will go up the North and West Forks of the San Gabriel River collecting and bagging trash, returning to the parking lot with their collections.

If volunteers want to address spray paint vandalism, they will be given Kover Kote, a carboard bucket, and brushes to apply the material on to spray paint that they find.

The flier below will be printed to paper and be provided for volunteers to place in their car windshields in the hopes that the U.S. Forest Service will not require volunteers to acquire an Adventure Pass.

Help spread the word, let's see if we can get some volunteers to turn out for a disorganized trash collection effort before the rainy season. Laura Zenk. will be coordinating the event.

Bring drinking water, and a hat might be a good idea.
