Tonight at the City Council meeting, Fire Chief Chamberlin addressed the council and public regarding the recent "July Lightening Fire" by the Boundary Waters.

HUGE THANK YOU to Assistant Fire Chief Gerlovich, Fire Chief Chamberlin, the entire Babbitt Fire Department, and all other fire departments who deployed their services to assist with the recent fires. The dedication and hard work put in by our Fire Department and all of those who assisted is something to be proud of.

UPCOMING ELECTIONS:
Both upcoming elections will be held at the City of Babbitt Municipal Building's Council Chambers located at 71 South Drive, Babbitt, MN 55706.

Primary Election will be held Tuesday, August 11th and includes U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative District 8, Governor & Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, and Attorney General.

General Election will be held Tuesday, November 3rd and includes the above listed state & federal offices, as well as local council & mayoral positons.

Exciting news from poor circumstances.. the City of Babbitt will be welcoming vendors this coming Friday and Saturday at the City's Park located on Central Boulevard.

City Council approved use of the city's land & recreational areas due to the last minute cancellation of Ely's Blueberry Art's Festival. Birch Landing Art Fair will be encouraging & promoting local business throughout Babbitt and neighborring communities by offering punch cards/discounts. Be sure to check out all of the vendors and visit Birch Landing -Art Fair page for more information!

The City of Babbitt still has a vacant position for the Assistant Recreation Coordinator. This union position works 32-hours/week and makes up to $21.39/hour, with paid time off.
