Volunteer firefighter recruitment and retention across New York State is at a historic low. Over the past five years, the number of volunteer firefighters across the state has decreased from 120,000 to 80,000 - that's one third. The dedicated men and women of the Babylon Fire Department are residents just like you. We are teachers, electricians, police officers, mechanics, attorneys, students, business professionals, and more. We come from all walks of life with one common goal - to help and protect our neighbors. Every member volunteers his or her time to serve our community with pride. Email us today at [email protected] to learn how you can become a firefighter or EMT. No experience is necessary. All training is provided at no cost through the Department and the Suffolk County Fire Academy or Suffolk County EMS.
