Babylon Junior-Senior High School is proud to announce that senior and Class of 2026 valedictorian Cassidy Hayes has been named a National Merit Finalist in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Cassidy was among over 1.3 million students who entered the competition and advanced from just 16,000 Semifinalists nationwide—less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. As a Finalist, she remains in the running for one of approximately 6,930 scholarships worth nearly $26 million to be offered this spring. Congratulations Cassidy!

Babylon Elementary School and Babylon Memorial Grade School recently hosted their annual career day, inviting professionals from a variety of sectors to speak to students about their careers. Guests included professionals from health, fire and rescue, police, airlines, and railroad workers, just to name a few. These volunteers offered their time to speak about their career choices, answer students' questions about day-to-day routines, and outline the necessary steps to start on their respective career paths.

Four Babylon Junior-Senior High School students and their advisor recently traveled to Manhattan to compete in the National Marketing Competition at the Virtual Enterprise Youth Business Summit, held at the Javits Center in New York City. Students Katie Bellone, Saniya Bathija, Peyton Logue-Boyd, and Logan Montiglio, representing the Babylon VE firm Meat the Pickle, earned their place at the national competition after their team placed in the top three percent of all Virtual Enterprise firms nationwide during the preliminary rounds.

We extend our congratulations to last month's recipients of the Babylon Elementary School Panther Pride award.

These students were recognized by the Board of Education for demonstrating the important attribute of honesty in the classroom during the month of March. Their positive attitude and respect for others contribute meaningfully to a stronger and more supportive school community.

Babylon Junior-Senior High School DECA and Business Club students recently traveled to the Canon USA Headquarters in Melville, N.Y., where they participated in a panel discussion with Canon employees representing the finance, marketing, HR, product development, and social media departments. Five Babylon School District students advanced to the state level of the PTA Reflections contest, a national arts competition that invites students to submit original works for judging. Kira Kubat and Chloe Maebara were recognized in the dance choreography category, Dylan Tourt in music composition category, and Casey Crowley and Kaiyah Tacahashi in the visual arts category. In addition to being recognized at the state level of the contest, Chloe and Kaiyah earned the state PTA’s Award of Merit.

Babylon Junior-Senior High School is proud to present "Annie."
Students have been hard at work rehearsing, and provided a sneak preview earlier the Board of Education meeting earlier this month.
Performances are tomorrow, March 27 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Babylon Junior-Senior High School.

Babylon Junior-Senior High School has named Dominic Davila as the school's inaugural Poet Laureate. The honor recognizes a student who demonstrates exceptional literary talent, scholarly dedication, and a commitment to the arts. Dominic's work has been featured in prominent regional anthologies, including The Future Speaks: A Teen Poetry Anthology from Suffolk County New York and Harmonic Verse 2025: Poems for the Holidays. His literary excellence was further recognized in June, when he was honored at the historic Walt Whitman Birthplace Museum for his award-winning entry in The Suffolk Youth Poetry Competition.
