Current winter storm road conditions affecting our area. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions as we navigate this weather event.

𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:
Conditions are beginning to worsen in Galveston County, we are encouraging citizens to stay indoors and not drive on the roadways.

𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 CLOSED due to ice.
𝐈𝐇-𝟒𝟓 from Bayou Vista to League City, patches of sleet and ice along overpasses.
𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐲 is building up sleet.
𝐅𝐌 𝟓𝟏𝟕 E/W has patches of ice and sleet.
𝐇𝐰𝐲 𝟏𝟒𝟔 ice on Dickinson Bayou Bridge.
𝐅𝐌 𝟔𝟒𝟔 N patches of sleet and ice.
𝐅𝐌 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟒 sleet & ice in the Hitchcock area.
𝐇𝐰𝐲 𝟑 has patches of sleet and ice.
𝐇𝐰𝐲 𝟖𝟕 has patches of sleet to Gilchrist.
𝐇𝐰𝐲 𝟏𝟐𝟒 has sleet and ice.
𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 iBacliff has sleet and ice.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

As multiple days of freezing temperatures approach Galveston County, Precinct 1 Deputy Constable M. Sanford is coordinating efforts to assist elderly and disabled residents in the Bayshore community.

If you, a neighbor, a loved one, or someone you know is in need of having exterior pipes wrapped in preparation for the cold weather, please reach out to us via private message. Include the person’s name, contact number, and address, and Deputy Sanford will personally visit to cover each exterior faucet with foam insulation.

This service is completely free of charge and will be offered on a first come, first serve, greatest need basis, as supplies are limited.

It’s deeply tragic to hear of the loss of Deputy Jesus Vargas, a brave and dedicated law enforcement deputy who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. His commitment to keeping communities safe is a testament of his character and unwavering service. The thoughts and prayers of the Galveston County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office are with Deputy Vargas’ family, friends, USMS and law enforcement family during this incredibly difficult time.

We also want to remind the public to appreciate and support our law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve our communities. May Deputy Vargas’ legacy of dedication and sacrifice never be forgotten.
