Continuing the EV Charging Infrastructure Study initiated in July 2025, this project evaluates the current state of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Huron County and identifies strategic locations for future charging stations. The purpose of this survey is to better understand public perceptions regarding ideal locations for DC fast-charging stations, as well as preferences for charger characteristics and nearby amenities.

This survey is being conducted by researchers at Michigan State University. The entire survey should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

The survey is part of the EV charging infrastructure study that started back in July of 2025, evaluating the current state of EV infrastructure across Huron County and identifying strategic locations for future charging stations.

What a great day exploring all that the Village of Sebewaing has to offer!

Last Thursday, our Board members met at the Sebewaing Township Library, where we heard from the Library Director about the many exciting initiatives happening there and saw firsthand how the placemaking grant dollars from our program were put to use last fall. We then spent the remainder of the morning touring businesses, organizations, and community assets throughout the Village of Sebewaing.

From coffee at Mast’s Coffee to behind-the-scenes tours at Michigan Sugar Company, Sebewaing Light & Water Dept., and Bay Shore Camp, the day highlighted the innovation, investment, and strong community spirit that make Sebewaing such a special place.

Additional stops included Sebewaing County Park, Bayside Best Beans, Countryside Transportation Service Storage, the former Lapeer Metal Stamping property, the marina, airport, DPW office, Sebewaing Sportsman's Club & VFW Post 4115, Scheurer Health, and Bay View Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care, where board members even had the chance to spend time with puppies!

Thank you to everyone who welcomed us and shared the incredible work happening throughout the Village, and huge thanks to our Board Chair Mike for organizing the tour and stops. We’re excited to continue supporting economic development efforts in the community!
