City Of Aliquippa

City Of Aliquippa Aliquippa,Pennsylvania 15001 Beaver County A small steel town in Western Pennsylvania.

It once was a bustling town with 30,000 people due to the Aliquippa Works of Jones & Laughlin Steel which was the worlds largest stretching 8 miles along the Ohio River and employed 9,000 men and women .Until 1984 when LTV Steel the new owner shut down 90% of the Aliquippa Mills puting over 4,000 people out of works and in 2000 the rest of the plant shut down. Soon the population dropped from 30,0

00 to 14,000 in 1990 to 11,000 in 2000 to 9,134 in 2010. Today the small town struggles to survive due to the Economic Depression since 1985.

Aliquippa Residents:

Duquesne Light Company has notified us that tree trimming operations will begin in the area soon for the next 2 months or longer.

Tree pruning is performed to maintain the necessary clearance between trees and electrical equipment, helping to ensure the reliability of the power system and the safety of the public. A few trees will be removed. Trees are pruned or removed based on their species, growth rate, and proximity to overhead power lines.

Thank you for understanding.

I was honored to join members of our faith community, the Knights of Columbus Woodlawn Council 2161, clergy, and residents as we celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Consecration of the City of Aliquippa to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Ten years ago, in June 2016, our city took part in a historic and meaningful ceremony that united our community in prayer, hope, and faith. Today, we proudly renewed that consecration alongside Reverend Father Anthony Costantino and the faithful gathered at St. George Byzantine Catholic Church, reaffirming our commitment to the values of love, service, compassion, and unity.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this anniversary celebration possible, especially the Knights of Columbus Woodlawn Council 2161, our clergy, parish communities, volunteers, and all who participated in the Divine Liturgy, renewal ceremony, procession, and fellowship afterward.

As Mayor, it is a privilege to stand with our community in recognizing the important role that faith, prayer, and shared purpose continue to play in the life of Aliquippa. May God continue to bless our city, our families, our first responders, our schools, and all those who call Aliquippa home.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in marking this historic milestone. Together, we honor our past, celebrate our present, and look forward to a bright and hopeful future for the City of Aliquippa.

Shout to the police and fire departments truly grateful!!!
