Today, May 4th, is known as International Fire Fighters' Day. This is in recognition of all current and past fire fighters that keep or kept our communities safe. The world's fire fighters dedicate their lives to the protection of life and property. Sometimes that dedication is in the form of countless hours volunteered over many years, in others it is many selfless years working on the scenes in a high stress environment. In all cases it risks the ultimate sacrifice of a fire fighter’s life.

International Firefighters’ Day is a time where the world’s community can recognize and honor the sacrifices that fire fighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible. It is also a day in which current and past firefighters can be thanked for their contributions.

All of us at Bagley Fire, we extend a special thank you to the surrounding departments for your continued help, support and efforts. Shout out to all the fire fighters locally, state, nationally and internationally for your bravery and courage. Stay safe!

This past Monday, April 20th, the Bagley MN Volunteer Fire Department had the honor of escorting the National American Legion Commander from the outskirts of town to the Bagley American Legion Post 16. He was in town for a breakfast and to address concerns and questions from Post members and the community related to Veterans. It was our pleasure to participate in the event. We appreciate Post 16 for involving us.

🔥🔥Red flag warning issued for Clearwater and surrounding counties for today, April 20. Dry condition and winds create an extreme risk for fires. Please be alert and extra cautious during this time.

🔥🔥Burning restrictions also went into place today with campfires allowed.

Please be extra careful today and everyday with open fires. If needed call emergency services at 911 and Clearwater County dispatch will dispatch the appropriate needs from Bagley Fire, local DNR Forestry or other appropriate area services. The area has alot of blow down from last summer's storm. Please be extra careful. Once things start to green up, restrictions should come off. Pay attention to the Minnesota DNR website for all fire danger and burning restrictions information.

The Bagley fire department wants to extend heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who showed up and supported our annual fundraiser this past weekend. It was an incredibly uplifting evening, and we hope you felt as inspired as we did having you there. We are forever thankful for your unwavering support.

We also want to express our deepest appreciation to the individuals who purchased yellow raffle tickets from local businesses and firefighters over the past few months. Rest assured that all funds raised will go directly towards equipment and safety resources that enable us to make a meaningful difference at the scene. Thank you again for your remarkable support.

Congratulations to the raffle winners. (See photo) Grand Prize Polaris Ranger - Kelly Saker.

Fireman's ball is tonight, folks. Dinner tickets are sold out, but don't let that stop you from joining the party. The public is still invited to the raffle and entertainment portion. There's a $10 cover charge at the door, but think of it as a donation to keep your community safe and entertained. Come one, come all, and have a blast while supporting a great cause. Stay tuned for sneak peek setup pictures coming later today. There are some sweet prizes this year.

Do you have plans for Saturday night? The Bagley Fire Department's annual Fireman's Ball takes place this Saturday, April 11. A dinner and games event will commence at 6:00 pm at the Bagley American Legion auditorium. Brother JukeBox will provide entertainment until midnight. You may also have the opportunity to see local talent perform hits like Strawberry Wine or Sweet Caroline. Overall, this event supports the funding of essential supplies, equipment, and safety gear for our firefighters. We extend our gratitude to all sponsors for their donation of prizes and to the community for their ongoing support throughout the years. We look forward to seeing you there on Saturday night.
